Unicode-compatible Glagolitic fonts?
Bit of an odd request, but hey.

I've been doing some researching on Old Church Slavonic and in the process found out that my catalog of fonts does not cover the Glagolitic block of Unicode code points. Suffice to say it bugs me no end when I know there are characters that won't appear properly, and have gone out of my way to find some obscure stuff before. This one, however, is proving a shade elusive for some reason; I've found a few that looked like hits but don't register at the right code points for some reason.

Figured I'd throw a shot in the dark — does anybody know where to find a (preferably free, though if not then so be it) Glagolitic font that will display correctly?

Also, in trade, I can help with anyone having trouble with Chữ Nôm characters...

Hercules icon tutorial!
It's been a very long time since I posted here, and I did notice the rule change on posting tutorials (great idea!) Anyway, if you guys don't want a cartoon sort of tutorial up I'll take it down if you ask me to. :) Anyways:

Go from this: to this: using Adobe Photoshop CS2, no selective coloring or curves involved, making this easy!

Not a cut to my LJ this time! )

Hercules icon tutorial!

This tutorial is different than any other I've posted. This one involves a coloring that's not going to make the icon look oversaturated, using softer coloring. This is very easy, and is translatable between Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop. I made this in Adobe Photoshop CS2, and I recommend this tutorial for a darker pic with some blue in it (as you'll see in the base I made for the tutorial). The screen cap I chose is 1 of the screen caps from the movie Hercules, from </a></font></b></a>[info]dj43 at </a></font></b></a>[info]dj_capslock You can feel free to tweak anything in the tutorial for your icon, but I don't want you claiming this tutorial as your own. OK? :) Ready?

Go from this:  to this:

☄【TUTORIAL】
From to

Notes
- Made in Photoshop CS3 but I'm pretty sure it'll be translatable.
- This won't look good with every picture. So, I advise something with lots of colors in order to get the effect. :D
- Play around with opacity! Very important!

mini-movie icon help & a question.
hi. [: okay, so i'm looking for a tutorial on how to make a mini-movie icon like this:

credit to [info]pixiegirl131415.

i checked the memories but i didn't really see anything, although i might have missed it. i'm using PS CS3 and i don't have that jasc animation shop or whatever it's called. the video i want to use is in .flv format, so.. does that mean i would have to convert it first before attempting my icon?

and for my second question:

my quicktime needed an update a few days ago, and when i updated it, it messed up all of my files. i set all of my files back to open with photoshop, but quicktime keeps resetting it so that everything [[even .psd files which doesn't make any sense]] opens with the quicktime player. so now, whenever i try to open something through the file->open option in photoshop, it crashes. BUT, if i have my "my pictures" folder up and i tell a file to open with photoshop through that folder, it works just fine. however, this is very annoying and it lags my computer, so is there a way to fix this without deleting quicktime?

thanks in advance for anyone who can help. [:
